The International Education Studies Association (formally the British Education Studies Association) is a subject association that supports the academic community of students, teachers and researchers in the diverse field of Education Studies. We aim to promote and foster high quality research and teaching within higher education and the wider community.
We seek to engage with the world of education and disseminate the latest research through our annual conference and open access journals. It is our ambition to foster networks and impact upon national debates and discourses regarding education policy and practice.
As a relatively young association, we are committed to support the development of the subject and those that teach it. We support early career researchers and research students to develop their potential to contribute to Education Studies through our Early Career Researchers’ Conference and student bursaries.
The Association works to raise the profile of the subject within HE institutions, connect members with common interests, inform academics and professionals about the development of the subject and represent members’ views to appropriate bodies and organisations. It is consulted as a representative association for Education Studies on matters regarding the subject and the QAA Subject Benchmarks.
The Executive Committee works to maintain and develop the Association and in particular ensures the annual conference and peer-reviewed journals are respected and sustainable. It will also promote the work of the Association through its website and other social media.
