TIESA Chair’s Autumn Message
As we move into autumn and the new academic year gathers pace, I want to extend my thanks to all members of TIESA for the energy, insight, and commitment you continue to bring to our shared endeavour. Since the 2026 Conference, we have seen our community deepen its intellectual foundations, strengthen international collaborations, and take confident steps toward shaping Education Studies as a fully recognised global discipline.
To maintain our momentum, we will shortly be opening nominations for several key roles within the Association. As mentioned at the Conference, we are looking for members who are eager to contribute to the next phase of TIESA’s development and support our disciplinary mission.
We invite expressions of interest for the following executive positions: Secretary, Director, and Editor of our student journal, Transformations. Each of these roles is vital to our organisational coherence, scholarly voice, and commitment to nurturing emerging researchers in Education Studies.
Additionally, we are appointing two Deputy Editors (non-executive positions) for each of our journals: Transformations and Education Futures. These roles provide an excellent opportunity for members to influence editorial direction, support the peer review process, and contribute to the growth of our publishing ecosystem.
TIESA is founded on collective stewardship. If you believe in the future of Education Studies and want to help shape its direction, I encourage you to put yourself forward. Full role descriptions and nomination details will be shared with members shortly.
Thank you for your continued dedication to our shared discipline. I look forward to working with many of you over the year as we take the next steps together. It is highly appropriate that the theme of our 2027 Conference, hosted by the University of Keele, is the Future of Education Studies. The Executive is eager to receive proposals that explore new directions, challenge existing assumptions, and help shape the future of our discipline. Our goal is for TIESA to become the leading authority in Education Studies, influencing discussions and practices both nationally and internationally.
