Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellow in the Department of Education Studies

Education Studies is a dynamic and successful Department of Liverpool Hope University with a diverse and growing number of staff, students and researchers. It has an international reputation for excellence in research and teaching. In the 2014 review of Research Excellence, 60% of research in Education at Liverpool Hope was graded as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’. In the 2015 National Student Survey Liverpool Hope University was judged by students to be best in the North-West of England for ‘Overall Satisfaction’, ‘Organisation and Management’ and ‘Assessment and Feedback’ in Education Studies.

We are seeking to appoint up to 4 new colleagues to Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellow positions. Those who join us will be doctorally-qualified in one of the areas detailed below and have the demonstrated potential to make an exceptional contribution to our research-informed teaching agenda. All applications will be very carefully considered.  However, we are looking for focused specialists who are at the forefront of one discipline and teach and research in the area in which they have detailed expertise. Those who have a particular specialism in any of the following areas are particularly welcome to explore this opportunity with us:

  • History of Education, particularly as related to the history of schooling
  • Philosophy of Education, particularly as related to political perspectives
  • Psychology of Education, particularly educational psychology, social psychology or personality

Please note that these are ‘Post-Doctoral’ Fellowships and a Doctorate is i all cases required. Applications from persons who are nearing completion of a PhD will be considered; however, a PhD will need to have been awarded prior to the post being taken up. Please include the title and a copy of the abstract of your PhD in your application.
