16th BESA Annual International Conference
Educational Alternatives: Challenges and Possibilities
25th & 26th June 2020
(27th June 2020 Early Career Research Conference)
The 16th BESA Annual International Conference will be held in Manchester (UK) from the 25th to the 26th of June of 2020 followed by the Student conference on the 27th of June. BESA (British Education Studies Association) is a subject association that supports the academic community of students, teachers and researchers in the diverse field of Education Studies. The association aims to promote and foster high quality research and excellence in teaching within higher education and the wider community.
Attending the BESA conference provides a powerful learning and networking experience for researchers, lecturers, teachers and students involved in different forms of education. Moreover, delegates attending the conference automatically become members of the association for a year, getting the benefits of BESA membership.
The conference will be held at Manchester Metropolitan University in central Manchester on 25th and 26th June 2020. The conference includes provocative keynote speakers and a wide choice of presentations and social events. The theme of this year’s conference is Educational alternatives: challenges and possibilities. This theme will be central to the presentations delivered by the Keynote speakers (TBC).
Students who do not have access to conference funding are eligible to apply for one of a limited number of BESA Student bursaries. The bursary will fund attendance at the BESA Annual Conference, the Early Career Researcher events post-conference, as well as BESA membership for the following year.
The BESA Organising Committee welcomes papers from a wide variety of empirical and theoretical perspectives with a focus on educational matters. More details of the call for contributions, submission guidance, and student bursaries are available online.
The deadline for abstract submission is the 6th of March 2020 with confirmation of acceptance in April. For those who need to arrange Visas or funding in advance, there is also an early submission deadline on the 13th of December 2019 with confirmation of acceptance in January.
