Abstract Submission

Submission Guidelines

Abstracts for the conference should be no longer than 400 words, and include:

  • a clear description of the aims and objectives of your inquiry
  • the methodology and methods employed (if a theory paper, please indicate theoretical perspective(s))
  • results and key conclusions

The key theme of the conference is: Education as radical change and innovation

Paper Submissions
Papers are oral presentations lasting 15 minutes, plus 5 minutes for questions. They will be scheduled in 60-minute sessions which will normally include 3 papers on similar themes.

Abstracts proposing a paper for the conference should be no longer than 400 words, and include:

  • a clear description of the aims and objectives of your inquiry
  • the methodology and methods employed (if a theoretical paper, please indicate theoretical perspective(s))
  • in the case of an empirical paper the results of your analysis
  • key conclusions and discussion points.

Poster Submissions
We also welcome submissions for papers to be presented as posters. Abstracts for poster presentations should contain the information requested as per the bullet points above for paper submissions. On the submission form please select both paper and poster presentation types if you would like to be considered for either format.

Symposium Submissions
Symposia are considered as one submission but they consist of 60-minute conference sessions organised by the submitters. The chair named on the proposal is responsible for the time-keeping of the presentations and the management of Q&A of the symposium.

Abstracts proposing a symposium for the conference should be no longer than 400 words, and include:

  • the title of the symposium
  • the name and institutional affiliation of the chair
  • an overview of 150-250 words regarding the aims, the educational relevance of the symposium and the central thread representing the coherence of the presentations of the symposium
  • the title of each presentation (maximum four presentations per symposium) with the name and institutional affiliation of each author.

Workshop submissions
Invitations are extended for interested submissions for workshop-based sessions organised by the submitters. The chair named on the proposal will be responsible for managing the time and activities of the session. Workshop sessions are intended to be 50 minutes in duration with 5 minutes allocated for question and answers at the end. We particularly welcome submissions aimed at attendees who may be early career researchers. Proposals for workshops should include:

  • the title of the workshop
  • the name and institutional affiliation of the chair
  • an overview of 150-250 words outlining the aims of the workshop and the educational relevance to the conference and delegates
  • the intended audience for the workshop
  • some indication of the learning outcomes delegates can expect from the workshop
