Online Survey - Academics Perspectives on Metricisation of Higher Education in the UK

A research study being conducted by an Education Studies team at Liverpool Hope University entitled, “Academics Perspectives on Metricisation of Higher Education in the UK” would like to invite academics based in any discipline or department in a UK HE institution to participate in their survey.

We are interested in finding out your views on the increasing ‘metricisation’ of higher education and its impact on your professional practice. The study may be of value in providing a space for you to share your opinions and/or concerns regarding the merits/demerits of metrics such as the Research Excellence Framework (REF) and the National Student Survey (NSS).

More broadly, we hope that the findings of the study will be valuable for stakeholders such as, senior managers, governors and policy-makers in helping them to understand academics’ perspectives on the spread of metrics into higher education and its impact on their professional practice.

Your participation would involve completing an online survey. Please find the link to the survey below, which in addition to the survey itself also provides you further details regarding the study.

If you are happy to participate in the pilot study, please complete this survey by 31st of May 2017.

Please do feel free email us if you have any questions regarding the study.

Best wishes
