FREE Event: Early Career Researcher Preconference 24th June 2015, Cardiff Metropolitan University
The 4th Early Career Researcher (ECR) Preconference is to be held by BESA on the 24th June at Cardiff Metropolitan University. The Preconference is held as a focus day, prior to the Annual BESA Conference at Cardiff Metropolitan University, which follows directly after on the 25th-26th June 2015.
The ECR Preconference has been developed to provide the opportunity for students and new researchers to attend workshops that will benefit their studies and future career opportunities. In addition, the Preconference is a chance to meet other ECRs who are interested in education studies.
This year we have some fantastic workshops hosts, including David James, who serves on the Education sub-panel of the REF. Other workshops include:
- REF explained – What does it mean for me? (Professor David James, Cardiff University)
- It’s all academic: careers options, up to the viva and beyond (Professor Scott Fleming, Cardiff Metropolitan University)
- What do we do when we write: How do I plan a thesis? (Shona McIntosh, University of Bristol)
- How to (and how not to) write for publication: thoughts of a reviewer (Professor Gary Beauchamp, Cardiff Metropolitan University)
The BESA ECR Preconference is a FREE event, lunch will be provided and the event will run from 9.35-4.15pm.
If you plan to attend the main BESA 2015 conference on the 25-26th June, you can also register for the preconference on the secure online registration form. If you plan to attend the preconference only, please use this registration link.
