BESA Executive membership vacancies
We are pleased to announce that there are three vacancies in the BESA Executive Committee so we welcome application from all members who wish to be part of the Executive committee of BESA. An elected member of the Executive Committee is expecting to serve the committee for three years at a first instance (2016-2019). Duties as part of the role of an executive member include: attendance at four meetings per academic year (some of which may be virtual), attendance at the annual conference and any other additional roles that will be agreed in the executive committee.
Please note the criteria for eligibility in applying for a place in the executive committee are:
- individuals who are engaged in the teaching of, research into, or the study of Education Studies in higher education;
- each full member of the Association has a right to apply for the vacancy in the executive. If you are not a member but still interested in applying then full membership fee needs to be paid prior to the application;
- nominations for election to the Executive Committee must be made in writing by current members of the Association and must be in the hands of the secretary of the Executive Committee by lunch time on the 8th of June 2016. Should nominations exceed vacancies, election shall be by ballot.
Applications should include a brief CV (no more than 450 words), the reasons that the applicant wishes to join the executive (no more than 300 words) and maximum four bullet points of their potential contribution in the Association (no more than 250 words).
